Run clubs in Bondi: where to start

Start with the club's current instructions
Running groups can publish a regular meeting time while changing a route or a session through their own updates. This guide separates the meeting time from the actual departure time and links to the club's instructions. Use those links before setting an alarm or travelling across Sydney. A recurring timetable is a useful starting point, but the organiser controls the session on the day.
The clearest Bondi schedule we could verify directly is The Sydney Run Club's Friday session at the Promenade. We have also included a nearby option from Bondi Running and Triathlon Club, whose running sessions meet in Centennial Park. That location distinction matters: a club with Bondi in its name does not necessarily begin every activity at Bondi Beach.
The Sydney Run Club: Friday in Bondi
The Sydney Run Club's own FAQ says the Friday group meets at 5:30am for a 5:45am start at the Promenade, Bondi Beach. It describes the run as free, with no formal registration required. Its listed distances are typically 5 to 10km, with the distance chosen from the options available on the day. Read the FAQ and then check the club's updates for changes.
Use the 5:30am meeting time when making your plan. The later time is the departure, so treating it as the arrival time could mean missing the briefing. If a friend is joining you, share the original club link along with the meeting place. The club says it welcomes different experience levels; ask the organiser about the route and group that suit you.
BRAT: running sessions in Centennial Park
Bondi Running and Triathlon Club, also known as BRAT, publishes a Wednesday tempo run at 6am from the York Road bubbler in Centennial Park. Its Friday track session is listed for 6am at McKay Oval, also inside the park. These are separate from the beachfront Friday run above and have different meeting places. Use BRAT's weekly training page for the session descriptions.
BRAT says its sessions are confirmed the day before in club WhatsApp groups. That makes the club's joining and communication process important for a newcomer. Ask the club how to attend and what membership or trial arrangements apply. This guide does not assign a price to those sessions because a current joining cost was not verified alongside the timetable.
Questions to ask before your first session
Confirm the precise meeting landmark, the arrival time and the expected departure. Ask how long the planned route is and whether different distances are offered. If you are coming alone, tell the organiser it is your first visit and ask how to recognise the group. These questions help connect the timetable on a webpage with the people you need to meet.
Check whether you need a booking, account, waiver or membership before attending. Different clubs use different systems, so a free or unregistered session at one club tells you nothing about another. Ask about the planned finish point and any arrangements for belongings. Make your own travel plan around the answer instead of assuming every run returns to its meeting location.
Keeping the details useful
The sources below were checked on 12 October 2026. Meeting times are recorded as the clubs published them on that date. If a club changes a session, follow its newer instructions and send the correction through our tips page with a link. We can check a public source and update this guide without relying on a forwarded, undated timetable.
This page is about finding and joining local groups. It does not provide training plans, fitness promises or an assessment of whether a particular run suits an individual. For other plans around your run, the weekend page collects dated events and the market guide explains Saturday and Sunday trading hours. The Thursday issue adds the week's selected events once it is published.
